dane county Woman’s Business Directory TheMadisonWoman.com
The dane county Woman’s Business Directory (WBD) is dedicated to providing information and resources for Greater Madison Business Women. The WBD is published annually in late February. Our mission is to assist women in achieving their dreams and improving their community by providing resources and information, which allow women to start and operate a successful business. There are new articles featured every year pertinent to Business Women.
The WBD is the largest, most comprehensive and widely used guide for local females and women’s organizations in the region. The mission is to increase the visibility, authenticity, influence and status of women-owned businesses and professional females, with the purpose of promoting economic growth and support. The average reader is anything but average. Our readership consists primarily of well-educated professional females, between the ages of 32-59, with average, annual household incomes of over $80,000.
In 2002, O’Gara Publishing printed the first directory recognizing that Business Women were becoming a powerful economic force of the future. Initially, however, the feedback was outright disbelief to polite laughter. Now, the Directory is considered a “business network” connecting professional women to each other as well as the community.
The WBD is the fastest and easiest way to put you in touch with female business-owners and decision-makers. Women-owned businesses generate more than $2.38 trillion in the United States. Women are now the decision-makers in both their offices and homes.
10,000 copies are printed at over 100 Dane County locations such as: female conferences, women’s networking organizations, various coffee shops, banks, car dealerships, gyms, spas, accounting firms, dry cleaners, the WWBIC, along with financial planners, architects, insurance & attorney’s offices. Our advertisers distribute copies of the Woman’s Business Directory as a means of creating a network of extended worth-of-mouth referrals. The Directory is restocked throughout the following year. Of these copies, 500 are mailed directly to Advertisers.
